Background
CD30 is a transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the tumor necrosis factor receptor super family. CD30 expression is found on activated T and B cells. May play a role in the regulation of cellular growth and transformation of activated lymphoblasts. Regulates gene expression through activation of NF-kappa-B. CD30 is useful in diagnosis of classic Hodgkin's lymphoma, anaplastic large cell lymphoma and embryonal carcinoma.
