Background
This gene is a member of a conserved family of genes that share a common DNA-binding domain, the T-box. T-box genes encode transcription factors involved in the regulation of developmental processes. TBR1 is expressed in the brain and as a transcriptional regulator is involved in developmental processes. TBR1 is required for normal brain development.
