CDCFDA, SE passively diffuse into cells and it is nonfluorescent until the acetate groups are cleaved by intracellular esterases to yield the highly fluorescent, amine-reactive fluorophore. Upon reaction with amine-containing residues of intracellular proteins, this probe is well retained in cells. |
