Background
Non-pou domain-containing octamer-binding protein(NONO), other named p54nrb, belongs to DBHS family, whose protein are predominately nuclear and involves in transcriptional and posttranscriptional gene regulatory functions as well as DNA repair. This family has roles in a wide range of biological processes, such as the regulation of circadian rhythm, carcinogenesis and progression of cancer. NONO forms heterodimer with SFPQ, and has been implicated in nuclear retention of A- to I-edited RNA as paraspeckle components, pre-mRAN 3'-end formation, cAMP cycling and transcriptional activation.
