The CCK-8 Cell Counting Kit facilitates sensitive colorimetric assays for assessing cell viability in both cell proliferation and cytotoxicity studies. This CCK 8 kit utilizes the highly water-soluble tetrazolium salt, WST-8, which is metabolized by cellular dehydrogenase enzymes to produce a yellow-colored formazan dye that remains soluble within the tissue culture medium. The concentration of formazan dye, a byproduct of dehydrogenase activity within cells, is directly proportional to the number of viable cells present. The CCK 8 assay kit boasts superior detection sensitivity compared to other tetrazolium salts, including MTT, XTT, MTS, and WST-1, making it an excellent choice for accurate cell viability measurements.
